Richard’s expertise in dog training spans nearly 20 years and in 2013 he became the first Accredited instructor of The Kennel Club Accredited Scheme for instructors in Dog Training and Canine Behaviour (KCAI) in West Yorkshire. Recognised throughout the UK and Worldwide as being one of the leading professional bodies for those who provide advice and training in canine behaviour.
He is also a graduate of The University of Hull with a Bachelor of Science degree BSc (Hons) in Canine Behaviour & Training after achieving his Foundation Degree (FdSc) in Canine Behaviour and Training in 2014. Richard is also a guest lecturer at Bishop Burton College.
In 2015, Richard achieved his accreditation to become a member of the APDT, cementing Richard’s practical skills across a multiple of organisation realms
Richard is also the founder and principal trainer of The Suburban Gundog Way, which utilises the advantages of Gundog training in suburban environments and incorporates all the benefits of Gundog training for any breed and any owner.
Working with rescue dogs is something close to Richard’s heart. Not only has Richard worked with many rescue centres across the globe, Richard also owns a rescue dog himself, which had been owned by 5 previous owners before he was 15-months-old, due to his aggressive behaviour.
With Richard’s ethical approach of combining force-free methods, exceptional practical skills and a scientific approach to behavioural issues, his expertise in the field of canine behaviour and training is internationally recognised and respected by his peers and pet dog owners alike.
