An initial consultation usually lasts up to 2-hours and all training is tailor-made to meet specific owner requirements, with a 1-hour follow-up session two weeks after the initial consultation.  Email support is also provided throughout the process, for further assistance.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aggression<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

Please note: All aggression cases are dealt with by Vet Referral Only, for further information please contact me directly. <\/em>Aggression can be helped, but not always cured, just as a Labrador can be stopped from retrieving, but will still have a desire to retrieve.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are two ways of helping the problem. One way is to go the behaviourist route, where the problem is analysed, and a programme is developed to modify a dog’s emotional response.  The other way is the training route, think of this… if a dog walks well on a lead, comes back when called and stops when asked, most aggression issues can be managed. However, if you approach the problem by combining both methods, it results in the most efficient and ethical way of dealing with aggression problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Separation Anxiety<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Separation Anxiety can be triggered when dogs become upset because of their separation from their guardians, the people they are attached to.  Escape attempts by dogs with Separation Anxiety are often extreme and can result in self-harm and household destruction, especially around exit points, such as doors.  I will guide you on how to understand triggers, investigate the origins of the behaviour and create a tailored programme to build your dog’s confidence when left alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unwanted Behaviour<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes your dog will produce a behaviour that is not aggressive or a symptom of Separation Anxiety but is still unwanted behaviour, such as excessive barking, mouthing, etc. Contact me directly and I will guide you to the best service, suitable for the issues you are experiencing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
