As I sit writing the final blog for 2016, listening to Christmas songs (yes I really do start Christmas that early!!!), I look back at what was a very hard, but rewarding year. Hard, because the final year of university was immensely difficult and looking back I don’t really know how I did it. Rewarding because for the rest of my life I will have a internationally recognised science degree, which no one or nobody can take away from me. I also cannot talk about a rewarding year without mentioning the people I work with, namely my clients; whether those who employ me on a one to one basis, those who attend one of my classes or those very kind friends who invite me to teach at their club or organisation. They have all worked towards making 2016 not only one of the most fun years I have had, but the most successful year to date.
2016 has seen some changes for the business; first I now have a brilliant assistant called April Khan helping me with my busy classes. I also added another class in Harrogate on a Wednesday morning to allow those who cannot attend an evening class, such as retirees, shift workers etc. This year also saw the Companion Dog Classes move from the Dogs Trust after 6 years to the Scarcroft venue in order to place all the classes on one day freeing up more days to train individuals, which seems to be working beautifully. Personally I have enjoyed spending more time with Guinness and Drake, who have suffered my lack of interest in the last few years due to my studying. And finally I get to spend more time with Gail (a bad thing she might say if she was asked ☺), but it really does feel like we have our lives back and I am enjoying every minute of it, hope you all do too….Happy Christmas and bring on 2017!!!!!!
